Does the HGN801 support PoE?

The spec table does not list PoE for this model. It has USB Type-C with OTG, USB HOST 2.0, microSD, SIM, and HDMI out. If your deployment needs PoE, ask us about our PoE tablet line or whether a custom SKU is possible.

Can the HGN801 run Google Play services?

We ship Android 9.0 as AOSP by default. Tell us in the RFQ if your app requires GMS, or if you need a custom launcher and open ADB for device management.

What is the IP65 rating on the HGN801?

IP65 means the enclosure is dust tight and protected against low pressure water jets from any direction. It is not rated for immersion. The spec table lists IP65 as the standby protection level, so confirm your exact use case with us before ordering.

Where the HGN801 fits and where it does not

The hgn801 is an 8 inch RK3399 rugged Android tablet with ID reader option. It is built for field work and indoor duty where drops, dust and water spray are likely. The spec table lists IP65 as the standby protection level, so confirm your exact use case with us before ordering.

We see buyers put it on forklifts, in warehouses and at gate checkpoints. The RK3399 dual A72 plus four A53 cores runs Android 9.0. The 8 inch screen is designed for handheld use.

This is not a wall mount panel. The HGN801 is also not a medical device. Our medical tablets are information terminals, and this model shares that boundary.

What to specify when ordering the HGN801

Start with memory and storage. The spec table lists 3GB RAM and 32GB body memory as standard. 4GB RAM and 64GB storage are listed as optional in the spec table but are not currently available for ordering, so plan for 3GB plus 32GB and a microSD card up to 128GB if you need more room.

Then pick the modules. NFC at 13.56 MHz is optional, as is UHF RFID from 902 to 928 MHz. PSAM slots, a one-dimensional and two-dimensional close range scanner, and GPS plus Beidou or Glonass are all per order. Front camera is 5MP or 2MP, rear is 13MP, 5MP or 8MP. Tell us which combination your app expects.

Specify the OS image you need. We ship Android 9.0 as AOSP without Google Mobile Services by default. If your project needs GMS, a custom launcher, or open ADB, say so in the RFQ. Also state your accessory needs: active capacitive pen support is built in, but the pen itself is not listed as included.

How the HGN801 differs from sibling rugged models

A buyer who compares this to the WA8058T should note the screen size and ID reader option. The HGN801 is an 8 inch handheld, while the WA8058T is a larger rugged tablet. If your workflow is one handed, the HGN801 is the smaller choice.

The HGN801 is the only one of the three with an ID card recognition option in the spec table. That matters for access control or identity verification.

The RK3399 is shared across some of our models, but the HGN801 pairs it with IP65 and a two cell 7.4V battery. That combination is for field use. Ask us for current trade terms.
