Where 8 inch fits
Door-side room labels, single-gang wall positions and handheld field work. The wall model takes PoE and NFC. The rugged models carry a battery and are listed at IP65.
Specify these in your inquiry
- RAM and storage tier. Several models list two tiers.
- Android version. It follows the chipset, see the OS column.
- PoE, NFC, camera, 4G: optional on many models.
- GMS or AOSP, launcher lock-down, ADB access.
- Housing color and logo method.
Choosing an 8 inch Android tablet from our table
We keep the table short on purpose. Three 8 inch android tablet models cover the two jobs this size does well: fixed wall duty and handheld work. The WA8058T is a wall mount unit with PoE and NFC. The HG805G and HGN801 are IP65 rugged handhelds on RK3399.
Start with mounting. A wall mount tablet needs a data connection and a place to hide the cable. PoE solves both, so the WA8058T is the only model we would put in a hallway or above a door. The rugged models have no PoE, but they carry their own battery and can go where no cable reaches.
Then look at RAM and storage. The wall model lists 2GB+16GB. The rugged pair lists 3GB+32GB, which matters if you sideload a large app or keep a long log. If your fleet pushes past that, ask us about the 10 inch wall tablets or the rugged tablet line before you commit.
NFC is a real difference. The WA8058T has it built in. The rugged models list 13.56MHz as optional, so say whether you need it in the RFQ. Resolution is only published for the HG805G at 1280*800. Treat the other two as unknown until we confirm.
What to specify in the RFQ for an 8 inch rugged tablet
A buyer who wants the 8 inch rugged tablet should tell us three things up front. First, the OS build. The HG805G and HGN801 run Android 9.0. We can ship a build without Google Mobile Services, with open ADB, or with a locked launcher. Say which one your deployment needs.
Second, the NFC option. Both rugged models list 13.56MHz as optional. If you leave it out of the RFQ, we quote without it. That is fine for barcode-only workflows, but a door access or asset tag app needs the reader.
Third, housing and branding. We can change housing color, silk print a logo, set a boot animation, and preload your APK. For a handheld that field staff carry all day, ask about a lanyard hole or a hand strap if your enclosure needs one.
Do not assume the two rugged models differ. The table shows the same chipset, OS, RAM, storage, and IP65 rating. The only listed difference is the published resolution on the HG805G. If you need a specific resolution, say so and we will confirm the HGN801 panel before quoting.
Also check the HG805G model page and the HGN801 model page for any extra detail we have published there.
Integration limits and what we do not make
We are a hardware OEM. We do not write your room booking app, your inspection software, or your payment flow. Payment security on any tablet is a property of the payment app and its certified reader, not of our board. Medical tablets are information terminals, not certified medical devices.
The table has blank cells. We do not guess them. If a model shows a dash for chipset or resolution, that value was not published for that SKU. Ask us and we will give you the engineering answer, not a marketing one.
But we do answer every RFQ within 24 hours. Send us your deployment count, your OS requirement, your NFC yes or no, and your branding method. That is enough for a first pass.
If you need a wall panel with a larger screen, look at the 10 inch Android tablet or the 13 inch Android tablet. For a fixed kiosk, the POS terminals may fit better. But if an 8 inch wall mount tablet is the right size, the WA8058T is the one we suggest you quote first.
