af or at
IEEE 802.3af delivers up to 12.95 W at the device and 802.3at up to 25.5 W. Our PoE models list IEEE802.3at/af. Check the DC input rating of the model: 12 V / 1.5 A is 18 W, which needs an at port.
Why PoE for wall tablets
No mains outlet at the door, central power backup from the switch, and remote power cycling per port. It is the standard choice for room booking panels and smart building controls.
Standard or option
Cells marked Optional mean the PoE module is fitted per order. State it in the inquiry so the quote and sample match.
Specify these in your inquiry
- RAM and storage tier. Several models list two tiers.
- Android version. It follows the chipset, see the OS column.
- PoE, NFC, camera, 4G: optional on many models.
- GMS or AOSP, launcher lock-down, ADB access.
- Housing color and logo method.
Choosing a PoE tablet from the table
The table lists ten models, but the columns tell you more than the model names. Start with screen size and mounting style. Wall mount units suit room booking and building panels. L-shape desktop units suit reception and retail counters where the cable drops behind the counter. A call handle model like WH1018T adds a physical handset for nurse call or concierge use.
Then check the PoE column. Cells marked Yes mean the module is fitted as standard. Cells marked Optional mean the module is fitted per order. Cells marked IEEE802.3at/af mean the model supports both power classes. You need to confirm the switch port class for the optional models, because a port that only supplies af power may not be enough for a unit that expects at.
Look at the chipset and OS columns together. RK3288 models run older Android versions. RK3566, RK3568 and RK3576 models run Android 11 or 15. If your app requires a specific Android API level, that decides the row for you. We can load AOSP builds without Google services and open ADB, but the OS version follows the chipset. We do not backport Android versions.
What to put in the RFQ for a PoE Android tablet
Send us the quantity, the exact model, and the PoE requirement. For models where PoE is optional, state "PoE fitted" and the power class you expect. Also state the RAM and storage tier where the table shows two options, such as on WA1412T. If you skip it, we quote the base tier.
Tell us if you need NFC, camera, 4G, or a barcode scanner. These are per-order options on many models. We need to know before we quote because they change the BOM and the sample lead. For wall tablets, specify the housing color and logo method. Silk print, metal badge, boot animation and preloaded apps are all in our OEM scope.
For software, state GMS or AOSP, launcher lock-down, and whether you need ADB access. If you need a custom launcher or firmware changes, describe them in the RFQ. We answer within 24 hours. We do not publish prices, but the RFQ lets us quote your exact configuration.
Integration limits and what we do not make
Our PoE tablets are display terminals. They are not certified medical devices, even if a model appears in the medical category. Payment security belongs to the payment app and its certified reader, not to our hardware. We state this because integrators sometimes ask us to certify the terminal for PCI or EMV. We cannot do that.
We also do not make the switch or the network infrastructure. A PoE tablet needs a switch port that can supply enough power. The table shows af or at support, but the actual power the unit draws depends on the screen, backlight and peripherals. If your switch only has af ports, you may need an injector or an at port. We can advise, but we do not supply network equipment.
For rugged use, see our rugged Android tablets. They have different housings and connectors. If you need a larger wall panel, look at our 21-inch or 24-inch models. PoE is not available on all of them, so check the table on each page. We do not add PoE to a model that was not designed for it.
