Software
Standard AOSP Android. Custom launcher, boot logo, preloaded apps, open ADB and builds without GMS are available through OEM firmware.

Where the HG805G fits, and where it does not
The HG805G is an 8 inch RK3399 rugged Android tablet. Its IP65 rating suits dusty or wet work areas where water sprays are occasional, not continuous immersion. The two-cell 7.4V battery with fuel gauge gives useful runtime for shift work, and the RK3399 dual Cortex-A72 plus quad A53 handles typical Android apps without a fan.
We do not claim this tablet for underwater use, high-pressure washdown, or environments with corrosive chemicals. The IP65 rating covers protection against low-pressure jets and dust ingress, not steam or solvents. If your site uses alcohol wipes heavily, specify that in the RFQ so we can confirm gasket materials.
A buyer who needs a bigger screen should look at 10 inch Android tablets or the HP1012T. A buyer who needs a fixed wall mount in a meeting room should check meeting room tablets. The HG805G is a handheld field device, not a kiosk.
What to specify when ordering the HG805G
Start with the base configuration: 3GB running memory and 32GB body memory. The spec table lists 4GB and 64GB as optional, but note that we do not currently support those upgrades. Extended storage via micro SD up to 128GB is available, and we support 8G through 128G cards.
Then decide which optional modules you need. NFC at 13.56MHz, UHF RFID at 902-928MHz, PSAM encryption cards, QR code scanning, and positioning modules are all per-order. Choose GPS+Beidou, GPS+Glonass, or the triple combo. Tell us the exact reader or scanner brand and model if you have a preference, otherwise we use our standard modules.
For cameras, the front is 5MP or 2MP, and the rear is 13MP, 5MP, or 8MP. If your app does barcode scanning, the optional close-range one-dimensional and two-dimensional scanner is separate from the camera. Specify Android 9.0 and whether you need open ADB or a custom launcher. We ship AOSP builds without Google Mobile Services unless you ask otherwise.
How the HG805G differs from sibling models
The HG805G is the only 8 inch rugged model with RK3399 and IP65 in our current line. The WA8058T is also 8 inch, but its spec table shows different options and it is not listed as IP65 rugged. If your project needs a handheld with higher protection, the HG805G is the starting point.
Compare with the HP1012T, a 10 inch tablet, or the WA1036T. Those are larger, likely for desk or wall use. The WL1026T is another 10 inch option. Screen size and form factor drive the choice: the HG805G is handheld, with a USB-A host port, USB-C OTG, micro SD, SIM, and HDMI out. That port set supports field peripherals like external keyboards or a secondary display.
If you need a rugged tablet but a different size, ask us. We cannot promise an IP65 model in every size, but we can say which current models come closest.
