Where the k11 fits and where it does not
The k11 is a 15.6 inch dual screen N2840 POS terminal. It's built for countertop use in restaurants, retail stores, supermarkets, coffee shops, self-service ordering, and warehouse stations. The dual screen setup? A cashier faces one display. The other shows order details, promotions, or a customer-facing interface. The N2840 is a low-power Intel processor. So the k11 suits Windows 7 based point-of-sale software that doesn't demand heavy multitasking. 2GB RAM and 32GB storage set a practical ceiling. This is a dedicated terminal, not a general-purpose office PC.
Need a terminal that runs Windows 10 or 11? Or one that handles multiple virtual machines or database-heavy workloads? The k11 isn't the right fit. Same goes if you require an Android environment or a fanless design. We make Android POS models and other dual-screen terminals with different CPUs. That includes the HP1701S and HP525. The k11 is a specific configuration for price-sensitive deployments. Windows 7 compatibility and a 15.6 inch dual screen are the primary requirements.
We don't preinstall point-of-sale application software. You bring your own POS application, and we make sure the hardware matches its system requirements. Peripherals like a receipt printer, barcode scanner, or keyboard are per order. They're not bundled by default.
What to specify when ordering the k11
Send us four things with your RFQ: the number of units, the target POS application and its minimum system requirements, the peripherals you want connected, and any branding or packaging needs. The k11 has a 10-point capacitive touch panel. Multi-touch gestures? Supported. If you need a different touch technology or a resistive overlay, tell us. We'll confirm whether it can be done for this model.
Specify the operating system image you need. The standard k11 ships with Windows 7, but we can load a clean image with your drivers and settings. Custom firmware, a preloaded app, a custom launcher? Include those in the RFQ. We can also silk print your logo, change the boot animation, and use your color box and manual. Those are OEM services we perform in-house.
For the dual screen, clarify how the second display will be used. Customer-facing? You may want a different brightness or viewing angle than the operator screen. The standard k11 uses the same 1366 by 768 resolution on both panels. We don't offer a higher resolution option on this model. Need Full HD? Consider a different terminal in our dual screen POS range.
How the k11 differs from sibling models
The k11 is a 15.6 inch dual screen N2840 POS terminal. One CPU, one RAM and storage config, one display size. Our other dual-screen terminals? Different processors, different operating systems. The HP1701S is a different model with its own CPU and OS choices. The HP-P1501 is a desktop touch terminal, not a dual-screen unit. The i8 and HP525 are separate lines, each with their own specs.
Comparing the k11 to those models? Focus on the processor, operating system, and memory. The k11 runs Windows 7 on an Intel N2840 with 2GB of RAM. That's a fixed configuration. Other models may run Android or Windows 10, or use Rockchip or MediaTek chipsets. It all depends on your POS software stack. We don't recommend the k11 if your application needs more than 2GB of RAM or a newer Windows version.
Integrators who need a dual-screen terminal but can accept a different screen size or a more powerful CPU-our POS terminal lineup has alternatives. Tell us the application requirements and expected transaction volume. We'll help you narrow the list.
