Where the HP1701S fits and where it does not
The hp1701s is a 17 inch N5095 Windows touch POS terminal. Single-screen desktop unit with a 10-point capacitive panel, 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage. We see it work best on a fixed counter in a restaurant, retail store, supermarket, coffee shop or self-service ordering station. The 1366 by 768 resolution? Readable for order entry, barcode lookup and loyalty screens.
It's not a dual-screen terminal, so you'd add a customer-facing display separately if you need one. It runs Windows 10 as listed, so your POS application must support that OS; we don't test third-party software. The fanless or fan-cooled thermal design isn't specified in the page data, so we can't promise silent operation in a quiet dining room. Need Android? Look at our Android POS terminals instead. What to specify when ordering the HP1701S
What OS image do you need on your hp1701s? What peripherals will you attach? How will it mount? Include those in your RFQ. The page says Win 10, sure, but your deployment might need a specific build or language pack. Preloading apps and swapping the boot animation-that's standard OEM scope for us. No problem.
Peripherals matter. Tell us the receipt printer, barcode scanner, customer display and cash drawer models you use. The HP1701S data sheet doesn't list I/O ports. We can't confirm compatibility from a spec table alone. Give us connector types. Driver requirements too, for each one. Wall mount or VESA? Say so. The page shows a desktop form factor.
