Where the WL1589T fits in a deployment
The wl1589t is a 15.6 inch l-type rk3399 desktop android tablet. It's built for fixed counter and desk positions where the screen needs to stay upright without a VESA arm. The L-shape base holds the RK3399 board, the speakers and most of the connectors. So the display itself stays thin and clean. You get a 1080p IPS panel, gigabit Ethernet, PoE support and NFC in one unit. That combination suits restaurant ordering, self-service check-in and retail information terminals. If you want a countertop Android terminal with wired network and no external PoE splitter, this is where you start.
The model is not a battery tablet and not a wall mount. Need a panel that mounts flat against a wall? Look at the WF1589T or the HP1012T. If you need a smaller 10 inch desktop unit, the WL1026T uses the same L-shape idea in a smaller footprint. The WL1589T is also not a rugged device. The working temperature range is 0 to 60 degrees, so it belongs indoors or in a kiosk enclosure.
What to specify when you order the WL1589T
Pick the RAM and storage pair first: 2GB with 16GB, or 4GB with 32GB. The RK3399 handles both. But a restaurant app with a big menu database and offline caching? It'll be happier on 4GB. Next, decide if you need PoE. The spec table lists PoE as yes, but confirm the exact IEEE class and whether you need an active or passive injector on your switch side. NFC's built in. It reads ISO/IEC 14443 type A and type B cards. That may be enough if your project only needs a loyalty card or employee badge read. Need a barcode scanner or 4G? Those are per-order options on the tablet line, and they should go in the RFQ.
Tell us the launch method. AOSP Android without Google Mobile Services, open ADB, and a custom launcher are available. If the integrator will push updates from an MDM, we need to know the MDM agent and whether it requires GMS. Also list any preloaded APKs. Housing color, logo silk print or metal badge, and boot animation are OEM items. State them early. The adapter is 12V/2A. If the site runs on PoE only, confirm the switch budget and cabling distance work for your number of units.
WL1589T vs the sibling L-type models
Hopestar's L-shape desktop Android tablets come in a few varieties. Mostly it's panel size and chipset that set them apart. Take the WL1026T-a 10 inch class unit with a smaller footprint. Now the WA8058T and WA1036T are different families entirely. Check their pages for panel size, resolution, and processor. The RK3399 in the WL1589T isn't automatically shared across all L-type models, you know.
Need the same 15.6 inch class but a flat wall mount? Compare the WF1589T. It's got the RK3399 and 15.6 inch IPS panel, but the mechanical form is different. The WL1589T works when the terminal sits on a host stand or counter and the cable exit from the base is acceptable. The base holds the DC jack, RJ45, USB host ports, micro USB OTG, HD output, SD slot, and earphone jack. That keeps tabletop cabling short. But it also means the base needs clearance. A flush wall install isn't what this model's for.
